Kids get playful for playday

It’s National Playday on Wednesday 6 August and children can enjoy a great day at Enfield Town Park where the council has put together a day packed with exciting free fun events.

There will be bouncy castles, arts and crafts; face painting, giant orbs, games, dance workshops, balloon release and under-fives play area delivered by Asquith Day Nurseries.

Enfield Council’s school catering service will also be handing out tasty healthy fruit snacks and information about free school meals.

Play is an essential part of learning where children share the fun, master new skills and laugh. Summer in Enfield is packed with programmes of fun in parks, play centres and leisure centres. Children in Enfield will have a great summer.

Cllr Ayfer Orhan, Cabinet Member for Education, Children’s Services and Protection; and Libraries said, “Enfield Town Park will be a wonderful playground for young children and they can have some fun in the splash pad.

“This is a special day celebrating our children’s right to play, but I also hope that Enfield’s children take full advantage of the free activities at centres throughout the borough and the adventure places in our parks.”

Play development manager, Ricky Williams, says, “National Playday gives children, young people and their families a fantastic play opportunity, It is also the Play Development Teams favourite day of the year as we get to see hundreds of happy faces playing, creating and enjoying”.
