Launch of Retrofit London

Published Wednesday, 16 July 2014

A new project providing free advice and support to more than 175 businesses so they can take advantage of work arising from emerging green industries has been launched by Enfield Council.

‘Retrofit London’ is a new business support project for small and medium sized enterprises located in Enfield, Haringey, Waltham Forest and Lewisham to help them access energy saving and carbon reduction markets; secure industry standard accreditations required to work in these new markets and help businesses access government backed funding initiatives linked to growing demand for retrofit services.

It is led by Enfield Council, working in partnership with Haringey, Waltham Forest and Lewisham Councils, Enterprise Enfield and the North London Chamber of Commerce.

Enfield Council is inviting local business owners in construction and property management sectors, and manufacturers and distributors of energy saving products, to join them in launching this exciting new project on 22 July 2014 at The Dugdale Centre.

Cllr Alan Sitkin, Cabinet Member for Economic Development for Enfield Council said “Enfield Council is committed to supporting local businesses, and we want to do all we can to help them tap into the energy saving markets. This sector is recognised as a key area for future growth and job creation and we want to make sure our local businesses can access these new market opportunities.

“Enfield Council is looking for small to medium sized enterprises in construction, engineering and property management sectors, but basically if you feel your company has the potential to supply the London Retrofit agenda we want to hear from you.”
