Published Wednesday, 04 June 2014

Enfield Council in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions has successfully placed 32 people who attended its last jobs and training fair into employment or education courses.

The Jobs and Training fair was supported by the North East Enfield Partnership, one of three Area Partnership Boards led by the Council.

Data collected after the last jobs and training fair showed that 21 people found work after with employers attending the fair.
A further 11 have started training courses while 36 were given support and advice on how to improve their chances of gaining employment through training in CV writing and other skills, a further 10 have started working in the voluntary sector.

Enfield Council Leader, Cllr Doug Taylor, said: “Enfield Council is utterly committed to making Enfield a more prosperous borough and a key part of that approach is making that the people who live here have the skills and experience they need to take advantage of the jobs our partners in the private sector create.
“Our Jobs and Training fairs bring together businesses and potential employees and give both parties the chance to see what the other has to offer the very fact that we have helped more than 30 people get into jobs and training after our last event shows they are effective and I’d thoroughly recommend that businesses who are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic staff come along and take part.”
