Since the new Edmonton’s Children’s Centre opened in January to allow births to be registered at its offices, over 165 new parents have made use of the new facilities.

Formerly if you wanted to register your new arrival residents had to travel to the Gentleman’s Row offices in Enfield Town, but to make it even easier you can now simply book an appointment to register at the Edmonton Children’s Centre.

A local mum, Iona Connolly, did just this when she took her three week old son Jake to be registered; she said “It was so convenient for me to simply to go to the Edmonton Children’s Centre rather than all the way into Enfield. The staff were really helpful, and everything was done so quickly and easily.”

Parents love the new Edmonton Children’s Centre, they have said:
- “It’s much better if you have a car and need to park”
- “The centre is so easy to get to from the south of the borough”
- "It’s great to have a choice where we register our baby”
- “The Centre is very child friendly, and the staff are great”

Cllr Andrew Stafford, Enfield Council's Cabinet Member for Finance and Property said “I am pleased to hear that the Edmonton Children’s Centre has been a hit with local parents when they want to register their new baby.

“Not only is it easier to get to for those who live in Edmonton and the surrounding area, it is also very accessible to lots of other amenities such as midwives, benefit advisors, baby play days, libraries and lots of other provisions for children, almost like a one stop shop.”

The Edmonton Children's Centre can be found at: 23 South Mall, 3rd Floor, St Georges Chambers, London N9 0TS (next to Gregg’s the bakers in the South shopping mall)
