This week Cllr Bambos Charalambous, Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture visited Kings Market, the newest Enfield Residents Priority Fund (ERPF) success story which has just opened in Southgate.

Kings Market

The market, which was given £5,200 of Enfield Council funding to promote the local area and establish a regular market selling quality food and items from traders, has now been open for a couple of weeks.

During the time it has been open many traders have sold out on their stock, produce being promoted includes meat, fruit, breads, flowers, world foods and other fancy goods.

Cllr Charalambous, who visited the market this Sunday to speak to some of the stallholders said “I was bowled over by Kings Market, not only the warm welcome that I received when I arrived but by the variety and high quality of all the different goods on offer.

“The market is still in its infancy but already crowds are coming to see what everyone is talking about. All this was made possible by funding from Enfield Council and the ERPF, which is dedicated to delivering money straight into the hands of local people to get inspired projects like this one off the ground.

“Enfield Council is proud to help support and promote local traders and their products which in turn creates a flourishing local economy.

“I would urge everyone who hasn’t already to come along to Kings Market on Sunday, and pick themselves up some of the wonderful treats on offer”

The Kings Market is open every Sunday between 11am and 3.00pm in Ashfield Parade, Southgate, N14.
