Barrowell Green recycling centre alternatives

Published Friday, 31 January 2014

Enfield Council is changing the opening times of Barrowell Green recycling centre to make it easier for residents to dispose of bulky rubbish and recycling.

Between April 1 and September 30, the centre, in Winchmore Hill, will be open from 8am to 6pm .

The centre will be open between 8am and 4pm between October 1 and March 31 with the centre closed every Monday throughout the year for routine maintenance work to ensure it continues to offer a first rate service to residents.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Chris Bond, said: “Enfield’s residents are great at helping the environment and work really hard to recycle as many items as they possibly can. The new opening hours at Barrowell Green will make it even easier for them to dispose of their unwanted items where Enfield Council will recycle as many of them as possible.

“Disposing of your rubbish and recycling properly helps the environment, potentially gives unwanted items a new home and discourages fly tipping, so visiting your local waste and recycling centre is always the best option when you want to bin something.”

Barrowell Green recycling centre will be shut from 4 – 10 February while the weighbridge is refurbished and as an alternative to dropping off your unwanted items, Enfield Council is offering residents a variety of ways to dispose of them.

Residents can also take advantage of the Bulky Waste Collection service, the Electrical Items Collection service and the Re-usable Furniture Collection service which all make it much easier to dispose of unwanted items in the most appropriate way.
