Exhibition to mark the 200th Anniversary of the Parliamentary Abolition of the Transatlantic Slave Trade

A reduced version of this exhibition is currently displayed at Thomas Hardy House, London Road, Enfield, EN2 6OS.

2007 marked the 200th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Britain and of the British African Slave Trade.

Many museums and community groups around the country organised and took part in commemorative events. Enfield Museum Service worked with community groups in the borough to produce an exhibition to commemorate this occasion.

This was first displayed at Forty Hall, before touring to Edmonton Green Library and Gallery Fore. Some of the panels and accompanying artefacts can now be seen at Thomas Hardy House.
