Nationality Checking Service (NCS)

Enfield Registration Service is working in partnership with the UK Border Agency to offer a checking service for anyone who wishes to apply for British Nationality.

• Why use the Nationality Checking Service (NCS)?

  NCS aims to help you submit a complete application for British Nationality. The UK Border Agency tends to deal with applications that have all the necessary information more quickly than those that are incomplete.

  You also do not need to send your original documents with your application, such as your passport, if you use this service.

• How do I get an application form?

• How do I book an appointment?

  If you would like to book an appointment, find out information on fees or have any other questions relating to this service, please contact customer services on 020 8379 4192.

• Is there a charge for this service?

  Yes  - there is a fee for each application you want us to check. Click here for a list of our fees.

  Payment for your appointment is taken over the phone at time of booking. Please ensure you have a debit or credit card with you.

• What happens at the NCS appointment?

  At your appointment, our trained adviser will:

  • Check you have correctly filled in your application;
  • Ensure you have enclosed the correct fee;
  • Check, certify and copy your documents so that you can keep the originals; and
  • Submit your application by secure post.

  Our advisers are registered with and authorised by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner to carry out this service.

• Can you also check children's applications?

  Yes - but only the parents need to attend the appointment.

• What happens if I do not have all the documents required?

  The adviser will tell you what documents you need to find. You will need to book another appointment when you have the documents ready.
