The Tudors - In Person and Under Your Feet
Event Dates:
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July 2009.
A joint initiative of Forty Hall and Enfield Museum Service, 'The Tudors' commemorated the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII's accession to the throne and celebrated The Festival of British Archaeology 2009.
Satruday 18th July offered visitors the opportunity to delve into Tudor life and explore how they lived and worked.
Activities included:
- Traditional Tudor cooking
- Tudor Bone Comb making
- Tudor Pole-lathe Turning
Sunday 19th July offered the chance for visitors to see an excavation by Enfield Archaeological Society on the site of Elsyng Palace, a Tudor Palace in the grounds of Forty Hall.
The day was a blast!
