Road safety - speed checks

Safety cameras are provided and maintained by the London Safety Camera Partnership (LSCP), whose main partners are Transport for London and the police. LSCP also liaises with Enfield Council about safety cameras in Enfield .

Selecting sites for safety cameras
The LSCP uses criteria in selecting the sites.

Speed cameras are considered for locations where four or more serious or fatal crashes have occurred in the last three years.

Red light cameras are considered for junctions with a history or one or more serious or fatal crashes caused by running red lights.

Request a safety camera
If you want to request a safety camera to be set up at a location, the Traffic and Transportation Service can give you details of crashes involving injuries there.

However, we depend on the LSCP to provide safety cameras where it believes they are needed.
