Emergency planning is the general term for the work that the government, the emergency services, the health services and Local Authorities all do in preparing plans and procedures for responding to, dealing with and recovering from an incident/emergency.

We work together with other relevant organisations to ensure that any emergency response would be co-coordinated, that staff are trained and that exercises to test the plans and procedures are carried out.

Our duty is to:

  • Provide support for the emergency services
  • Provide support and care for those affected by the incident
  • Use our resources to lessen the effects of an emergency
  • To lead the recovery after an incident

Assistance we can offer:

  • Rest centers
  • Transportation
  • Welfare and support
  • Structural examinations
  • Highway closures and diversions

Enfield Council also works in partnership with other agencies on plans for the North Central area of London . This Local Resilience Forum which includes Category one responders such as the emergency services, government agencies and other surrounding boroughs was established to promote the assessment of risks and information sharing between all those organisations who may become involved in an incident.
