Playgrounds

Playgrounds

Play is essential for children's well-being and healthy development. The ability to experiment and explore their environment freely is vital for their development.

We recognise the importance of helping to provide safe, accessible and interesting play opportunities for children of all ages in Enfield.

Playgrounds

There are over 40 playgrounds across Enfield.

Our playgrounds are accessible when the parks are open.

The Parks and Open Spaces Service is responsible for the safety and maintenance of playground equipment.

Playground safety

It is important that children have access to safe play environments.

  • The Parks maintenance staff clean and visually inspect all playgrounds daily.
  • There are bi-monthly risk assessments to ensure the play equipment and safety surfaces meet the highest possible safety standards (BS- EN 1176/77).
  • The Safer Neighbourhood Parks Unit patrols the parks' playgrounds regularly to ensure that the equipment is not being misused and that dogs are not within the playground area.

Playground maintenance

We hire an external company to carry out repairs.

Splash Pads

Young children can enjoy playing in the two interactive aquatic play areas that Enfield has. They are located in:
