Rent deposits

Most landlords ask for one month's deposit. You may be able to ask your landlord to accept a smaller deposit. 

If you have been claiming income support or Jobseeker's Allowance for six months or more, you may be able to obtain a social fund loan from the Benefits Agency to help pay for the rent in advance. However, demand for loans is very high, so it is hard to get a loan. There is no guarantee that a social fund loan for rent in advance will be available.
