London Borough of Enfield

I want to apply for council housing

Enfield's Housing Register

Enfield Council has a serious shortage of properties and as a result very few people registering for housing succeed in getting a council property.

There are far more people wanting to be housed than there are council properties available. You should consider other options shown on our web site:

If you are a council or housing association tenant wishing to move

Please be aware that:

We have over 7,600 families on the council's Housing Register and just over 1,950 households living in temporary accommodation.

  • The housing register is not a waiting list.
  • Time spent on the register will not give you priority for rehousing.

Less than 860 properties become available each year for letting from Enfield Council and housing associations.

Most of the social rented properties that become available for letting are flats on estates, many of which are in high rise buildings.

We do not nominate applicants to other councils - you can make a housing application direct to any council of your choice. For more information regarding to applying with another council click here.

The council want people to live in a decent home.  Please view the various housing options in this website for a settled housing solution.  Advice to find a home.
