Housing and Council Tax Benefit - An Overview
How to apply for Housing Benefit / Council Tax Benefit
You must fully complete our HB/CTB application form. You must also supply original documents that show the details of your income, capital, identity, etc.
If you claim Income Support or Jobseekers Allowance through your local Job Centre, they will ask you if you want to claim Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit at the same time. You do not have to complete the Councils Benefit Claim form. Job Centre Plus will send us the claim details. You will however need to provide us with proof of your rent and other information when we request it.
Please note: Enfield Homes tenants will not need to supply proof of their rent liability.
Our Benefit Calculator and application form
If you have difficulty completing our HB/CTB form, we can help you at one of our Reception Helpdesks, but please be aware that at extremely busy times this may not be possible. You can make an appointment to hand in your form and documents between 9am to 4pm at either the Civic Centre or the Edmonton Centre. We may also be able to arrange a visit to your property if you are unable to visit us. Contact us.
