Planning applications
Most building work, engineering work and use of land requires planning permission.
We ensure that the development is carried out in accordance with local and national planning guidance.
Our Decisions Team processes planning applications and other associated applications (for example Listed Building consent, Conservation Area consent and Advertisement consent), submitted to the council under the Planning acts.
We receive, on average, 2,500 applications a year.
More information on the planning application process is available in the Planning Handbook and Planning Charter.
