Litter bins

There are over 1,500 litter bins across Enfield; they can be found on the public highways and in parks and council housing estates. Every year, we invest in new bins and we aim to place more on school routes, near shops and beside bus stops and benches.

Street cleansing service

To prevent littering in public, we maintain our bins regularly. Bins are emptied at least once a week.

Operating hours: Monday - Sunday, with restricted shifts on weekends and bank holidays.

To request for new litter bins, call us on 020 8379 1000.

Penalty for littering

Litter in a public place is unsightly, dangerous to animals, and an offence. The average fine for littering is £80 and can go up to £2,500.

The prosecution of offenders and issuing of fixed penalty notices is handled by the Environmental Crime Unit.
