Council Tax billing and how to pay

Enfield Council Tax Bands 2011 / 2012

The full Council Tax bill assumes that there are two or more adults (for example, people aged 18 or over) living in a property.

We charge Council Tax on most homes. There is one bill for each home, whether it is a house, bungalow, flat, maisonette, mobile home or houseboat and whether the people living in it own or rent it.

Each home has been put into a band according to its value on the open market on 1 April 1991. Even if a property was built after 1 April 1991, the  property is banded according to what it is thought the value would have been at that date.

Your Council Tax bill will state the band that your home is in. If you have not yet received a bill, you can check the valuation list on the Valuation Office Agency website or view it at the Civic Centre. Once you know your band, return to this page to find out the relevant banding rate.
