Road maintenance

We maintain the roads of adopted highways. An adopted highway is one where we, as the local authority, have taken on the legal responsibility for maintenance. We inspect and survey all adopted highways on a regular basis.

We provide notification of road closures, diversions and possible traffic disruption that are caused by current or upcoming road works.

We do not maintain A406 (North Circular Road), A10 (Great Cambridge Road) or M25.

Department for Transport - Additional funding

Alongside Enfield Council's continued capital investment of £8.45m in the highway infrastructure, of which £4.55m was set aside for carriageway improvement works, an additional £409,000 of funding from Department for Transport was made available earlier this year for further carriageway repairs.
