Damaged Pavements

Our highway inspectors regularly inspect the condition of pavements however, damage may occur that we are not aware of but you are.

There are many ways that a pavement can become damaged and pose a safety risk to people by becoming:

  • Broken
  • Loose
  • Missing
  • Uneven
  • Cracked

When you report a damaged pavement we will send a highway officer to inspect it within 10 working days. If we believe that the damage is dangerous we will inspect it within 24 hours.

Criteria for Damage

We have certain criteria that damage must meet before it is repaired, such as its size and depth. 

If the damage meets our criteria and is dangerous it will be repaired within 24 hours.

If the damage meets our criteria but is not dangerous  it will be repaired within 28 days.

If the damage does not meet our criteria levels it will not be repaired.
