If you are on the wheeled bin service please click here for information on the collection of garden waste.

If you live in a house with a front garden, we will provide you with a green box for compostable waste (garden waste, uncooked fruit and vegetables).

You can also take garden waste to Barrowell Green Recycling Centre (Winchmore Hill, N21 3AR).

The green boxes are emptied weekly from the boundary of your property; it is on the same day as when your general refuse is collected.

Please place boxes outside your residence by 7am on your collection day.

Operating hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm

In your green box:

Yes please:

  • Uncooked fruit and vegetables 
  • Used tea bags and coffee grounds 
  • Flowers 
  • Household plants

Unfortunately, the following items cannot be thrown into your green box:

  • No soil or plant pots 
  • No meat, fish or other food waste 
  • No plastic wrapping

Other compostable garden waste can be put in untied sacks and placed beside your green box.

Yes please:

  • Small branches and twigs 
  • Leaves 
  • Grass cuttings 
  • Plant and hedge clippings

No thanks

  • No treated wood, fence panels, hard board or other types of wood 
  • No turf/soil/rubble.
