Enfield Design Awards

Where is the Borough's best new building?

The Enfield Design Awards is an occassional scheme intended to encourage a wider awareness of good design in the built environment and the positive impact it can have on everybody's life. The Awards scheme was started in 2003 and has been run twice. The quality of the entries and support for the scheme has grown over this time and is continuing to grow. In 2007 the EDA was sponsored by The Enfield Society.

The award categories embrace most of the building types found in the borough:

Awards in 2007 were given for:-

      New Residential Development,

      Commercial Development, Community Building or Project,

      Household Extension or Conversion

      Shop Front

      Listed Building

The Awards Sub Group prepared a shortlist for the judging panel to visit. The judging panel reflects a wide range of opinion, age and skill.

The judges for 2007 were:-

Paul Campbell - Design for London

Wendy Taylor CBE - Artist

Leon Bicknell - Architect

Dennis Stacey - Chairman of Enfield Conservation Advisory Group

Cllr Tony Dey - past Chairman of the Planning Committee
