Extant UDP Policies
The introduction of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (the 'Act') requires the Council to replace its existing 1994 Enfield Unitary Development Plan (UDP) with a new style of development plan known as a Local Development Framework (LDF).
Under Section 38 of the Act, Enfield's existing UDP policies were automatically 'saved' for a three-year period ending on 27th September 2007. The Act made provision for the Secretary of State to make a direction to save specified policies beyond this date until they are replaced by the LDF.
On the 10th November 2010, the Council adopted its first LDF, The Enfield Plan - Core Strategy.
Many of those 'saved' UDP policies have now been replaced by the Core Policies set out in The Enfield Plan - Core Strategy. The remaining will be replaced by forthcoming LDF documents.
