Accident reporting
According to Section 18 Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, we have a legal duty to provide adequate arrangements for health and safety enforcement, including including investigation of workplace accidents.
Employers have a duty to report certain dangerous occurrences and accidents at work to the council, which will conduct investigations.
It usually results in the council advising the employer on what to do. If a blatant breach of requirements is identified as the main cause of an accident, formal action will be taken.
