Schools Library Services
The School Library Service (SLS) offers an extensive collection of books and resources to school staff from primary and special schools (Foundation Stage to Key Stage 2) to enhance their lessons. It also gives advice consultancy and training for school staff to ensure that the school library supports the school curriculum.and enhances children's reading.
- This is a subscription service that is offered to the whole school. Charges are based on the number of pupils on the school roll;
- Service level agreements must be signed with subscribing schools
- Project Loans Service: collections of up to 30 books on topics studied by every class or year group
- Guided reading sets
- Fiction collection matched to National Curriculum topics
- Dual/community language collections (please contact SLS for current languages available)
- Collections of recently published fiction, poetry and folk tales for key stages 1 and 2
- Faith boxes
- Genre fiction collections
- Advice and support on aspects of use of books in schools and school libraries
- Themed displays for use in classrooms and libraries
- Help in re-organising the school library (This may be subject to additional charges.)
