Free school meals

To help those in need, the government provides free school meals for students. You can contact us if your child lives in Enfield.

If a child lives in another area but goes to a school in Enfield, you should contact your local council.

Who is eligible

A child can receive free school meals if:

1. the parent is receiving any of these:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Job Seeker's Allowance
  • Employment and Support Allowance (IR)
  • Assistance as an Asylum Seeker
  • Child Tax Credit, provided that your annual income is less than £16,040
  • The guaranteed part of Pension Credit
2. the child is attending a state-maintained school.

Those receiving Working Tax Credit cannot apply.

Your entitlement to assistance will be determined by the council where your child's school is situated. If they do not undertake this service, and you are resident in Enfield, you can apply to this office for an assessment of your entitlement.
