Who can vote in which elections?
To be able to vote in elections in the United Kingdom, you first need to be registered. Click here for more information on registering to vote.
The deadline to register to vote is eleven working days before an election.
There are however different rules as to who may vote at the different types of election. In all cases, voters must be aged 18 or over on the day of the election and not be subject to any legal incapacity to vote, e.g. barred by the Courts from voting.
