School term dates and holiday dates

We set and publish school term and holiday dates for the forthcoming academic year and up to two years in advance. These dates apply to all community schools and are recommended to all other types of schools (e.g. voluntary-aided schools) for them to adopt. They make their own decision on term dates.

Enfield Council sets 195 days: 190 are designated as teaching days that pupils should attend and five are Inset days for staff training.

For 2010-2011 all primary schools have been allocated an addtional inset day for one year only. 

For 2011-2012 all schools are entitled to an additional occasional day in recognition of the Queen's birthday.

Each school sets its own Inset days and may provide the council with their information if it wishes. Schools may change the dates of the Inset days but are not obliged to notify us.
