Councillors - declaration of interest

Councillors - declaration of interest

Local councillors have to abide by a code of conduct. Under this, they need to declare interests, gifts or hospitality that they have or have received, which could influence the decisions they make as councillors. View the declarations for each councillor.

Every four years (after each Borough Election), all newly elected councillors have to complete a return form (Notification by Members of a Local Authority or Financial and other Interests) where they register interest that they may have. This form is reviewed and, where required, updated annually.

To view a copy of a form, visit the ground floor reception counter in the Civic Centre.

Members also have to declare personal or prejudicial interests at council meetings that they attend as members of the committee. These are recorded in the meeting minutes and a Declaration of Member Interests Register.

You can download copies of committee minutes.

The Register is held by the Democratic Services Team. You can view it at the Civic Centre by requesting it from the Democratic Services Team.
