Meridian Water Baseline Information

In order to ensure the development of a truly sustainable community within Meridian Water, LDA Design's consultant team have undertaken a comprehensive baseline examination of the area in order to understand the issues and considerations to be taken in to account in the development of the proposals.

Each document sets out detailed baseline information on a number of distinct topics that were identified by the Councils key partners and stakeholders as issues that needed to be considered within the original Brief for the Masterplan.

Whilst this information covers a distinct set of issues within the area, in developing the Masterplan the information will not be considered on its own. Instead, this information should be considered in conjunction with the Councils Adopted Core Strategy and its supporting documents, the Mayors London Plan and other supporting policies and frameworks within the wider Council structure.

Please note, these documents are intended to give a baseline stance and information for the site. They are not designed or developed to give recommendations on approaches or development, but to provide key baseline facts and verifiable information which can then be developed and modelled in later stages. 

The Meridian Water Baseline Data is split in to the following documents;

Appendix 1 - Planning Baseline [Identifying all of the key Planning issues and policy frameworks within the area]

Appendix 2 - Social Infrastructure Baseline [Identifying all key existing social infrastructure networks and facilities within the area]

Appendix 3 - Transport Review [Outlining the existing transport infrastructure and public transport access within the site]

Appendix 4 - Flood Risk Scoping [Providing a detailed Flood Risk Scoping Report for the site, outlining key areas of flooding and impacts]

Appendix 5 - Geo-environmental Meridian Water Desk Study [Desk top examination of all geo-environmental issues within the site, including sub surface soil makeup, contaminants and water extraction sites. Due to file size this has been split in to multiple files.]

Appendix 6 - Noise Constraints [An overview of the noise levels within the site]

Appendix 7 - Air Quality Constraints [An overview of the air quality within the site]

Appendix 8 - Utility Constraints Assessment [An analysis of the existing major infrastructure constraints within the site]

Appendix 9 - Community Demographic Baseline [A detailed assessment of the existing community makeup, including social demographic analysis of the site itself and adjoining wards / Boroughs]
