Modernisation of council homes

Upgrading to meet Decent Homes Standard

All social housing must meet the Decent Homes standard. To do so, the property must and be weatherproof, warm and have reasonably modern facilities.

Enfield Homes checks to find out exactly what improvements are needed e.g. it may need a new bathroom or kitchen; the electrical wiring may be insufficient or need to be replaced.

Some homes might need more improvement than others.

You may need to move out of your home for a short while during the renovations.

A Decent Homes plan may include wider community issues such as play areas for children, parking issues and the general standards of the communal area where you live.

  1. 1. Upgrading to meet Decent Homes Standard
  2. 2. Upgrading a home to increase accessibility for disabled
