For enquiries you can contact us as follows:
By Email: Send us changes, queries, electronic documents, appeals, backdates etc. Please make sure you put your reference number or name and address, if you do not have a reference number, in the subject title on the email.
By Phone: Our 24/7 automated service. During opening times (8am – 6pm) there are options to choose from that lets you speak to an advisor for more complex enquiries. However, to get to an advisor you must listen to the automated information first.
During the introduction to the automated service you will have the option to press a 'Hot Key', a number that takes you direct to the information that you require, if you know it. By using the ‘Hot Key’ numbers you will access the service quicker. The 'Hot keys' are shown below:
1 = General payment information
2 = If you have received a Council Tax reminder, final notice, summon, liability order or bailiff letter
3 = Other Council Tax enquiries
4 = Benefits enquiries
5 = Council Tax Support Scheme and Benefit Changes e.g. Benefits Cap, Bedroom Restrictions and Universal Credit
6 = Business Rates

Note: We can only speak to the account holder or claimant unless we have written or verbal authorisation to speak to another person on their behalf.
From the 17th February 2014 - In response to customer feedback regarding waiting times for Council Tax, Benefits and Business Rates, the Face to Face advisory service at both John Wilkes House and the Civic Centre is by appointment only. You can book an appointment by calling 020 8379 6023 between the hours of 8.30am to 4.30pm or by visiting one of our offices to make an appointment.
If you need to hand in documentation, you can still do this without booking an appointment at all 3 of our offices.
