How to apply


A number of citizens have contacted us about websites offering services to assist customers in applying for a Blue Badge for a fee.

These sites are not associated with the either Enfield Council or the Blue Badge Improvement Service/Directgov website.

It is not necessary to apply for a Blue Badge through this site or any similar, as applications can be made for free at
Enfield Council

How do I apply for a badge?

The London Borough of Enfield Concessionary Travel Team offer several ways to apply for the Disabled Person’s Blue Badge:

  • Apply online via Enfield website
  • Visit Enfield Civic Centre Reception between 9.00am-5.00pm – assistance can be provided by a member of the customer service team, who will help you with an online application.
  • Visit any Enfield library – assistance can be provided by library staff (if visiting an Enfield library you will need to take your library card and proof of residence of London Borough of Enfield)
  • Telephone applications via the Concessionary Travel Team – 0208379 2228

Please note:  if you are reapplying for a blue badge and your application does not meet the automatic eligibility criteria, it may be subject to mobility assessment.  This can take 4-6 weeks to process.  Please reapply 2-3 months before your current badge expires.

Please note if your application is mobility assessed this may take between 6-8 weeks to process. 

If your application is successful, you need to send these to us:

  • Two passport-size photographs of yourself, Both should be signed on the back.
  • A cheque / postal order for £10 (administration fee) made payable to the London Borough of Enfield. It will take approximately 10 working days from receipt of the photograph and payment to produce a badge in your name. From 1st January 2012, all blue badges are being produced from a central location in England. You will receive the new badge in the post directly from the supplier, Northgate Public Services. Upon receipt of the new badge, your current badge will no longer be valid. You must either : return the badge to Concessionary Travel for destruction or destroy yourself immediately. Please be aware, the use of an expired blue badge will result is an offence of the Road Traffic Act 1984 Section 117 which carries a penalty of up to £1000
  • Do not send any money or photographs until requested to do so.
