Freedom Passes
Older persons freedom pass
Changes to eligible age
This information is relevant to everyone born between 1950 and and 1955 applying for an older person's Freedom Pass.
A change in legislation means that from 6th April 2010 the age at which an older person becomes eligible for free travel will be later that his or her 60th birthday.
The eligible age will increase in gradual steps from 60 to 65, starting with those born after 6th April 1950. If your 60th birthday is on or after 6th April 2015 you will become eligible on your 65th birthday.
