School Clothing Grant 2011/12
School uniform grants were re-introduced by the Council in the 2010/2011 academic year.
Initially as a pilot scheme it operates on the basis of a reimbursement in the form of a BACS payment or in some exceptional cases, a cheque payment. In the longer term it is expected that Uniform Vouchers will be issued to parents to enable them to purchase items of clothing from school uniform suppliers.
How much is the Grant?
For the 2011/2012 academic year the grant will be £22 for a Year R (reception) pupil and £85 for a Year 7 pupil.
Who is Eligible?
- Parents/Guardians whose child/children are in Year R (reception) or Year 7 in the 2011/2012 academic year. Please note that this grant is only for children in Year R (reception) and Year 7 and is not available for any other year group.
- In order to be eligible the parent/guardian should be in receipt of one of the following: Income Support, Income Based Jobseekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance (IR) or assistance as an Asylum Seeker. You would also qualify if you receive Child Tax Credit only, and have an annual income of less than £16,190, or receive the guarantee element of State Pension Credit. Please note that if you are in receipt of Working Tax Credits you will not qualify for a grant.
- The child and parent/guardian must live within the area of the London Borough of Enfield.
- The child must be attending a state maintained school
When and Where should You Apply?
Funds for the clothing grant scheme are limited and therefore we cannot guarantee that we can assist every applicant.
Application forms are available to download or can be obtained from your child's school or you can contact 020 8379 5367 and arrange for one to be sent to you.
Please complete and sign your application form and return it to : The Pupil Benefit Service, PO Box 56, Civic Centre, Silver Street Enfield, EN1 3XQ AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Please note that your application will not be processed if it is not completed in full and you have not provided all the necessary evidence.
