If you are a council or housing association tenant and cannot afford to buy a home, there are many different ways you can get help.

Right to Buy
If you are a council tenant, you can apply to buy your home from Enfield Council at a price lower than the full market value. The discount is usually a percentage of the value of the property but the maximum discount you can receive is £16,000.

The discount depends on how long you have been a council tenant If you sell the property within five years of buying it, you will have to pay back the discount or part of it.

If you want to apply for the right to buy, you need to complete and return a right to buy claim form (RTB1). As this form is a legal document, we recommend you use recorded delivery. You should keep a copy of the completed form for yourself. Download the claim form from Direct.gov
