School closures notified to Enfield Council
Met Office Alert 9 February 2012
The Met Office have issued a be aware warning and sent advice about the possibility of further snow this evening. There is some uncertainty about the exact track of the snow and how much there is likely to be but it is not expected to be as widespread or disruptive as last weekend.
There is a moderate risk of 2-5cm of snow for the London area arriving this evening across the north and west of the Thames valley region. This is expected to start around 7pm and clear all areas by 6am on Friday. The rest of Friday will be dry with sunny spells. The main hazard will be for icy patches on untreated roads and pavements as the cold spell continues.
We anticipate that schools will continue to operate as usual going into the half term break next week.
Any further updates issued, as necessary, during the weekend and holidays and will be sent to the school by e-mail and displayed on the Council website under the Schools tab and school closures option.
If you have any queries or if the decision is taken to close your school please advise the authority through the usual channels.
There are currently no school closures which have been reported to the local authority.
Spring half term for all community schools is from 13-18 February 2012
Update issued 2pm on Thursday 9 February 2012
