Schemes to help people buy a property at a reduced cost
New Build Homebuy (Formerly Shared Ownership)
New Build Homebuy (Fomerly Shared Ownership)
This scheme allows you to buy a share of a property while the rest is owned by a housing association. You pay a mortgage on the share you own, and rent on the rest. You can buy more shares later on if you wish, and may eventually be able to afford to buy the whole property. A Part Buy, Part Rent scheme can be a good option if you have a regular income but can't afford to buy your own home outright. It may be more affordable and less risky than buying privately, because you may not need such a big mortgage.
