Enfield Local Studies Library and Archive
Enfield Library and Museum service has a dedicated Local Studies Library and archive at Thomas Hardy House in Enfield Town. Archive material includes records relating to the three former local authorities of Edmonton, Enfield and Southgate.
The Local Studies collection includes books on the local history of the area, including transport history and biographies of famous people, journals, pamphlets and ephemera relating to local societies and organisations, local newspapers on microfilm dating from 1859, maps, including large scale Ordnance Survey, trade and street directories, Electoral registers, photographs and engravings, auctioneers catalogues and much more. We also have four PC's offering free public access to the on-line genealogy websites Find My Past, Ancestry and The Genealogist.
