Holocaust Memorial Day in Enfield
Holocaust Memorial Day is a national and international day which was set up 11 years ago to mark the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland on 27th January 1945.
It was an important moment when Soviet troops discovered the true horror of the Nazi regime and the world learned what had been happening to Jews, Roma and Sinti people, gay and disabled people.
Holocaust Memorial Day recognises world genocides and this year focuses on the 'Untold Stories'. Enfield Council is once again marking the occasion at the Dugdale Centre in Enfield Town .
