Enfield's Olympic and Paralympic Strategy
Enfield's vision for the Games is to ensure that the London 2012 Olympic Games & Paralympic Games are remembered not just for providing the best ever sporting & cultural festival, but also for bringing the best legacy meeting local expectations. In addition, the borough aims to use the Games delivery process to improve performance.
This Strategy sets out how Enfield plans to maximise the opportunities presented by the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 to ensure Enfield's residents and businesses benefit from the legacy of the 2012 games.
Enfield aims to:
- Maximise volunteering and training opportunities for residents
- Engage more young people in active sport by working with schools and colleges
- Build on, and expand, opportunities to participate in sports and cultural activities for all of our communities
- Maximising regeneration and employment opportunities especially in the cultural, leisure and sporting industries
- Develop the Council's structures and community sector capacity to deliver a legacy from the 2012 Games.
