The Forty Hall Development Project
The Heritage Lottery Fund and Enfield Council are working together to deliver a major refurbishment project which will see Forty Hall & Estate transformed from the municipal to the magnificent.
The project will not only restore the historic fabric of the Hall, it will also provide new services for visitors - exhibitions, events, and activities programme, and education opportunities to ensure the widest public access to Enfield's landmark Grade 1 Listed heritage building. The project will provide displays in the Hall that will explain the historic interpretation of the Hall and of the archaeological remains of Elsyng Palace which can be found at the north end of the lime avenue in the parkland.
The refurbishment project will take place throughout 2011.
The Hall will be reopened to the public at a relaunch event in Spring 2012.
A wide range of exhibitions, projects, events and activities are set to take place both on and off-site to ensure that Forty Hall remains in the public eye during the refurbishment works and to keep our visitors, customers and local residents informed of the progress of the refurbishment works and to provide continued opportunities to get involved in our public activities programme and education services.
