New survey shows parents are struggling with childcare costs

Published: Friday, 09 September 2011

Daycare Trust / Save the Children survey findings suggest that parents living in severe poverty are struggling to access childcare more than other parents.

A Childcare cost survey, published jointly by two charities – the Daycare Trust and Save the Children, comes at a time when childcare costs have never been higher. The poll of more than 4,000 working parents also found nearly two-thirds ‘cannot afford not to work, but struggle to pay for childcare’.

The survey findings suggest that parents living in severe poverty are struggling to access childcare more than other parents, particularly due to the high cost.
