Enfield Library and Museum Service
Enfield Library and Museum Service has sixteen libraries and one museum and archive/local studies centre across the borough. All family members are welcomed at all our branches, where you can find children's books, events and activities, DVDs, CDs, console games, online resources, local information, homework clubs and much much more for children of all ages.
Enfield Libraries provide a wide range of services for readers of all ages. With your Enfield Library card, you can borrow from even more libraries as we are part of the London Libraries Consortium.
At the library, you can enjoy:
- Free Internet and computer access
- DVDs, Books, Audio books, Language courses, language books
- Computer games, including PS3, Wii and X-Box (in selected libraries)
- Music CDs (in selected libraries)
- Newspapers and periodicals
- Online and traditional information resources
As well as providing items for loan, all libraries offer free computer use and internet access. Many also have fax and photocopying services, and study spaces.

Children's Library Services
- Children and young people of all ages can borrow books, console games, CDs and DVDs for a small charge as well as use other resources at any of our 16 libraries.
- Please check your local library for regular children's events.

There are books for children 0-11 years old including books for babies and toddlers and at every stage of a child's development and learning.

A Makaton storytelling session takes place at John Jackson Library.

We run a range of different activities and programmes for children, promoting enjoyment of reading including: reading groups, summer reading schemes, after school and holiday activities, author visits, weekly story and rhyme-and-play sessions for very young children.

It is free to use all Enfield Libraries and most of our activities operate on a drop-in basis.

Only a one-time fee is made on overdue children's items.

Enfield Libraries produce some useful pamphlets containing information for parents and carers. These include topics like : parent and toddler groups in Enfield , Children's art groups and classes , Children's and young people's clubs
Mobile and Special library services

Home Library Service - People who have difficulty getting to a library and would like books (including taped books) delivered to them can apply for the Home Library Service. We visit our Home Library users once every four weeks.

Mobile Library - The new Mobile Library has books and other materials and is for customers of any age who cannot easily access our other libraries.

The Sir Jules Thorn I.T. Centre, within Ordnance Road Library,
is fully accessible and aims to target local needs.
It offers free one to one computer training, with a dedicated trainer,
for people with sensory impairments - Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, blind and partially sighted. The trainer is learning British Sign Language and an interpreter can be provided if needed.

Enfield Sports Club Directory - Enfield Library Service in partnership with Enfield 's Sports Development Team compile and regularly update this directory of Sports Clubs in Enfield.
