In addition to the free support and training we will give you, childminders are required to undertake and complete a 12 hour paediatric first aid qualification before registration and to complete the 'Understanding how to set up a home-based childcare service' unit only of the Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People's Workforce within six months of registration. The full and relevant Level 3 Diploma is 65 credits in size of which four credits are accredited to the Childminding unit. (See Where can I go to do a course in Understanding Home Based Childcare?).
