Common FAQs
Community Access, Childcare and Early Years (CACEY)* hold regular coffee mornings, which are informal briefing sessions designed to help you decide if you would like to apply to become a registered childminder. If you are considering other routes into working with children, these options will not be explored at the session, but if you contact us we can signpost you to the right person to speak to in CACEY. If you are still interested in becoming a childminder, we will ask you to come to a two day training and support workshop. Topics covered will include:
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Training opportunities and requirements
Ofsted childminding registration process
Business and tax side of childminding
Marketing your business
*CACEY is a council service within the Schools and Children's Services Department. We work with you to provide services with and for children, families, professionals and partners. We have a duty to inform and assist you during your pathway to registration.
