Visitors to Enfield Town Centre will be in for a festive treat next Wednesday when the Leader of the Council switches on the Christmas lights at 5pm, kicking off the countdown to The Big Day.

The Enfield Town Christmas Tree, located on Fountain Island, outside HSBC in the Town Centre, will be the focal point for the lights switch-on. An array of festive street performers and entertainers will also be at the hour-long event to wow the crowds, including:

  • Our snowball juggling Mr Snowball, who will entertain the crowds with his marvellous skills.

  • Two sparkling giant Snowball Sprites on wheels, who will whizz around and around in a flurry of excitement throwing handfuls of blizzard as they go.

  • Our fabulous Snow Queen and Chariot - a repertoire of exquisitely costumed stilt walkabout characters, acrobatic balance, fire acts, globe walking, china plate spinning. This act is an acrobatic walkabout based on a tricycle podium operated by a snow queen

  • The fantastic musical Jumping Jack Frosts! Our four Jack Frosts promise to impress the crowds by performing a repertoire of songs whilst on stilts...prepare to be amazed!

Performances will take place throughout the entire event, with the lights switch-on scheduled for 5pm. Don't miss out next Wednesday!

Lorraine Cox, Cultural Services Manager and organiser of this event said: 'We hope that Enfield residents have a wonderful Christmas this year, with their family and friends, and hope that this frosty festival puts a smile on everybody's face'.
