Thematic Action Groups and Specialist Delivery Groups
There are five Thematic Action Groups and three Specialist Delivery Groups which
co-ordinate the delivery of the Community Strategy
and Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy aims and actions.
These groups are the
drivers for joint working and service improvement.
The Chairs of the groups are members of the ESP
Board and will be responsible for keeping the
ESP Board informed of their work.
Some of the challenges facing the groups are
as follows:
Safer and Stronger Communities Board
-
By 2012 Enfield will be a place for living
safely where crime, and the fear of crime,
are reduced
-
The causes of crime will be positively tackled,
as well as making the best use of the police
and criminal justice system to prevent crime
and reform offenders.

Services will focus on young people as victims
as well as offenders
-
Vulnerable people will be supported to live
in their own communities and the independence
of people, at all stages of their lives, will
be promoted
Children's Trust Board
-
To improve outcomes for all children and
young people so that they are healthy, stay
safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution
and achieve economic well-being.

We want children and young people to enjoy
good physical and mental health and live a
healthy lifestyle.

We want children and young people to be protected
from harm and neglect and grow up able to
look after themselves.
-
We want children and young people to get
the most out of life and develop broad skills
for adulthood
-
We want children and young people to make
a positive contribution to the community and
society and not to engage in anti-social or
offending behaviour
-
We want children and young people to overcome
social and economic disadvantage to achieve
their full potential in life.
Health Improvement Partnership Board
-
To work collectively to make ‘the healthy choice the easy choice’ for local people, by tackling the barriers to good health in their widest sense.

Working to deliver real improvements in the health of local people through a range of targeted action plans (including the Local Area Agreement), which also seek to narrow the gap between the life chances of those in the most deprived areas of our community and the rest of the borough.
Community and Economic Development Board

Reduced levels of people out of work, particularly amongst disadvantaged groups
-
More new businesses setting up and coming to the area, which will be seen as a prime location for business and enterprise
-
A range of opportunities and support provided to develop skills, and enable all residents to access the employment market
-
More people able to access an increased stock of good quality housing
- Provide opportunities and improve equality of access for people in Enfield to enrich their lives, learn and benefit physically, mentally and economically from a broad range of leisure and cultural activities in the borough.
Older People
-
Extend services to older people to maintain
their health, wellbeing and independence.

Help older people to stay healthy and active
and to encourage their contribution to the
community.

Closer working between community, housing,
social services; creating new opportunities
to support older people

Stronger partnership and integration of services
between Health and Social Services to provide
better joined –up services

Greater involvement of the voluntary sector
in developing and delivering services to a
wider group of older people

Active involvement in decision making by
older people
