Southgate & Winchmore Hill Asset Area Review (SWHAAR)
To ensure best use of its land and buildings Enfield Council has to continually review their condition, how they are used and whether they are still needed.
To achieve this the Council has developed a formal review process. This process will make sure that that the people of the Borough are involved in those decisions along with the professional staff employed by the Council who look after these assets on your behalf.
Other community service organisations such as Fire, Police, Health Authorities, Utilities & voluntary bodies will also be able to participate in the review exercise to ensure that all views and buildings are considered as part of this review.
In the review area, the Council owns approximately 45 major sites and buildings and other organisations another 8 or so. Any of these sites and buildings can be looked at on their own or together to make sure that we continue to have a good selection of quality services available across the Borough.
Formal Council approval for the review was given in July 2006. The whole process will take approximately another 3 years to complete.
The main objectives are to:
- Make everyone in the community more aware of the facilities in the area.
- Achieve better use of the land and buildings.
- Bring the land and buildings up to date or replace them.
- Meet the current, and future needs of the community through a planned programme of change.
