Privacy statement

Personal data provided to Enfield Council by users through the use of the Fostering and Adoption web pages will be treated in confidence and will not be disclosed by Enfield Council to third parties unless you have given us permission to do so.

We gather information about site usage in order to assist in the development and improvement of services to the public. At the present time this information consists of:

  • Summary data provided by our ISP (Internet Service Provider), which is derived from server logs using the software package "Webtrends". We do not receive the server logs themselves nor any related data that could identify individual users.
  • Information provided voluntarily by users through online Questionnaire. Feedback data cannot be used to identify an individual user unless the user voluntarily supplies their name or other identifying details. Comments and identifying information will only be held for as long as is necessary to ensure a proper response to queries and suggestions from users. Data held for long-term analysis is separated from comments so that it does not contain information, which would identify the user.

We do not currently employ cookies nor do we attempt to monitor the browsing behaviour of individual users through any other hidden means

This privacy statement applies to the Fostering and Adoption web pages under the control of the Enfield Council.

Access to records

You have the right to see written information which Social Services records about you. This is in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Enfield Social Services have produced a policy to help social workers and other Social Services staff to record information in the best possible way.

A leaflet called 'Your records - Your rights. How to see your personal files' explains the reasons for the policy, why Social Services keep records and how you can see them.

The leaflet is available from all Social Services offices, libraries and the Civic Centre. To have a copy sent to you by post, please contact Social Services on 020 8379 3333.
